2. SECURITY & PAYMENT

The Rooster Sailing Website is scanned on a daily basis by a specialist independent outside company to certify that we maintain a high level of website safety standards and good business practices.

This website is secured using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology. Imagine sending a letter through the post in a transparent envelope. Anyone with access to it can see the data. If it looks valuable, they might take it or change it. An SSL Certificate establishes a private communication channel enabling encryption of the data during transmission. Encryption scrambles the data, essentially creating an envelope for message privacy.

Payment Methods:

We also offer secure payment options - You can choose to pay using PayPal or use the on-line payment gateway to pay by Credit/Debit Card. Our payment gateway is provided by Braintree; they are a global company providing secure credit card and debit card payment solutions for thousands of businesses across the UK. Braintree solely handles your card details on their secure server where they run extensive security checks and obtain card authorisation. Payments are taken at the time of processing your order on the website.

BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later with Klarna & Clearpay):

We act as an introducer and not a lender of unregulated credit products provided by either Klarna Bank AB or Clearpay. (Both Independent companies from each other).

Credit is only available to permanent UK residents aged 18+ and is subject to status. A full set of terms and conditions will be set out when you sign up for either buy now pay later options at the checkout stage.

Either option offer a buy now and pay in several instalment options. These are not regulated by the FCA. Borrowing beyond your means could seriously affect your financial status. You must ensure you can afford to make your repayments on time by the due date.

Neither of these options are regulated by the FCA. Use of these and any missed payments may affect your ability to obtain credit from Klarna and other lenders. 18+, UK residents only. Subject to status. T&Cs apply.

The agreement you make with either buy now pay later options is a contract you make with that company directly when applying for credit and not Rooster Sailing Limited. Rooster Sailing Limited are not a credit broker or lender and are not regulated as such by the FCA.

This does not affect your consumer statutory rights and Rooster will uphold its responsibilities regarding the products you purchase from us in respect of returns, warranties and any related issue regarding the order itself.

PSD2 (3D Secure Check):

We use Cardinal Commerce in order to check your payment. This is known as PSD2 (3D Secure) check. This sits between our website provider Shopify and our payment gateway provider Braintree. This ensures a greater level of protection for the processing of your payment and ensures we are processing your payments in line with current legislation.
